Please allow me to introduce myself…

Flame On….

Flame On….

I’m a photographer, an explorer and adventurer, and I love what I do.

Every project is an opportunity to create something new; intriguing, compelling images that tell great stories. It might be a complex production utilizing CGI and far-flung locations, or a beautifully lit studio set, and the final image needs to resonate with the viewer, creating something memorable.

My approach to photography is defined by innovation, collaboration, and great passion for what I am doing. Whether photographing a series of portraits, the action of sports, an impressive vehicle, or a striking still life, I bring my guiding principles to bear on every project. My subjects and clients always receive my best effort.

I enjoy the collaborative process, and have had the good fortune to work with some great art directors, designers, and clients. I’ve traveled the world to shoot for Ducati, Bell Helmets, Adidas, General Dynamics, Bank of America, Harley-Davidson, Nike, Lexus, Subaru, Honda, Toyota, Yamaha, Kawasaki, ADP, Zeiss, Taylor Guitars, and many others. My images have been featured in Communication Arts magazine, Archive, Photo District News, Print, Graphis, GraphisPhoto, and numerous award shows. Photo District News profiled me and called me “Master of Light.” That was nice of them.

With Carmichael Lynch Advertising and Harley-Davidson, we won the Kelly Award for Advertising, a great honor.

In addition to my assignment work I also teach, and am a Professor of Photography and Digital Imaging. It is one of my great pleasures to mentor up-and-coming photographers and help facilitate their work. I am also very well traveled, and have worked, taught, and lectured in many countries. I love to travel.

I live and work from my home base of San Diego, California, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
